"The Party's Over 2" is my third album, successor to "The Party's Over".
In the process of recording, I decided to make an album divided between two parts, one is the sequel to The Party's Over, simply titled “The Party's Over 2” and the other one is the three covers of songs from my favorite artists such as Depeche Mode, The Doors and Bowie.

In musical terms, continues to be just as eclectic, varied, diverse and focused as on the previous album (The Party’s Over 1). Ranging from post-punk, indie/alt rock, synthpop, new wave, electronica, industrial rock, art rock and dub/reggae.
Lyrically, it's more or less a kind of thematic continuation related to the global pandemic, found in my previous album, as well as some new themes about the end of the T***p's presidency, Capitol riots, the apocalyptic scenarios (incendiaries, for example) and when will the world return to normal after the outbreak (or confinement).
The two songs “Meltdown” and “The Darkest Skies” were originally written during sessions of my previous album.

The song “Nikki”, a reference to the main character with the same name, from “Pandemonium”, a series of platform video games developed by Crystal Dynamics for PS1. The original, released in 1995, was my first platform game I've ever played as a child, thanks to my uncle maternal for recommending me. And it was actually pretty good. But the sequel one "Pandemonium 2", released in late 1997, was even better which doesn't get the credit it deserves, because I haven't played this game for a long time. Some of the levels are pretty hard but that's a matter of practice. What I like the most about this game is the aesthetics. Very psychedelic, very colorful, trippy but powerful. When I was a teenager, I always had a crush on main character as a sorceress “supreme” and professional. I was very impressed by the way she represents on screen and has huge level of charisma and sensuality. She's one of the coolest and toughest characters I've seen in my life, her looks don't deceive me. I loved this game more than the original and it was a special surprise for me. So, I had to sample some Nikki's quotes. In terms of hype, Pandemonium! didn't get much recognition as Crash Bandicoot or Spyro The Dragon, when it comes to platform games (but that's just another story).

“Tears In Rain”, theme dedicated to Dutch actor Rutger Hauer. Another special theme for me, because he was an excellent actor, he was charismatic, unique, eccentric and intelligent. I never cried when I saw the sad news on social media, but he had an excellent performance in the role of an android similar to human beings, as known as replicant, called Roy Batty, from the film Blade Runner (1982), especially in the final scene where he recites a little monologue while dying in the torrential rain. “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die”. It was one of the most beautiful moments in the history of cinema for the first time I saw it and I was very impressed and surprised the way he represented on screen. Emotional as hell. In cinematographic and visual terms they are very well achieved. That's why I discovered this movie after reading the list of the most important sci-fi movies of all time. And it ended up becoming one of my favorite movies, when I was young. I wasn't born yet when the movie was released. Aside from Blade Runner and Sin City, I haven't explored enough, the rest of the films he was in. I didn't know him personally, but the lines or monologues of actor Rutger Hauer will remain in my memory.

This year continues to be just as dark as the previous year, due to the pandemic, as well as the violent riots, dark invasions and incendiaries.
The album cover (made by me), with a grey background color, the black cat drawn in charcoal and colored pencils and a text font written in black, is quite adequate, like the previous album, the songs demonstrate the darker side of Black Cat.

Like my previous album description, The Netflix series "DARK" and "Stranger Things", as well as The Chameleons' "Strange Times", The Stranglers "Rattus Norvergicus" and Felt's "Forever Breathes The Lonely Word", were my main inspirations when it comes to songwriting on "The Party's Over 1 & 2".

The recordings and productions of the album were made in Pro Tools 12 software, in majority of the songs, at my house, in Lisbon. From the beginning of November 2019 until the end of August 2021.
